NF-[kappa]B in breast cancer cells promotes osteolytic bone metastasis by inducing osteoclastogenesis via GM-CSF
Article Abstract:
Nuclear factor-[kappa]B (NF-[kappa]B) has played a vital role in the osteolytic bone metastasis of breast cancer by stimulating osteoclastogenesis and also for the bone resorption characteristic of osteolytic bone metastasis. The results have revealed a specific role of NF-[kappa]B in osteolytic bone metastasis, indicating that NF-[kappa]B is a main target for the treatment of breast cancer and the prevention of skeletal metastasis.

A MSC-ing link in metastasis?
Article Abstract:
A mouse model of breast cancer is utilized to explain the importance of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in changing the tumor cell behavior in human beings. The analysis reveals that MSCs should not be relied on for anticancer therapies, as they promote metastases.

Supression of tumor growth and metastasis in Mgat5-deficient mice
Article Abstract:
Mice lacking the glucosamin Mgat-5 showed less tumor growth than those with the gene. Inhibiting this substance can help treat malignancies by identifying dependency on factors that signal growth and metastasis.
